How to Use the Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster:

Why should I use the Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™?

The Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™ log contributes to your protection and that of your home by eliminating all or parts of the accumulation of creosote in your chimney ducts.

 Is creosote dangerous?

The chemical composition of creosote makes it the typical fuel for chimney fires.  The uncontrollable intensity of these fires will depend on the density and thickness of layers of the creosote.  The accumulation of creosote reduces the efficiency of your stove because the obstruction of the chimney ducts reduces the air intake and its capacity of evacuating the smoke.

How many Creosote Buster™ Firelogs should I use?

We recommend the use of one to three Creosote Buster™ Firelogs in your stove or fireplace, depending on the frequency of usage to eliminate the greater part of creosote accumulation that forms on the internal part of your chimney during combustion.

Where can I use the Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™ Firelog?

The Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™ Firelog can be used in fireplaces, wood stoves and pellet stoves.

Are there places I should not use the Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™ Firelog?

Do not use the Creosote Buster™ log in BBQ grills, oil stoves, electrical appliances and fireplaces with gas logs.

How much creosote does the Creosote Buster™ Firelog remove on the 1st use?  Does it remove all the creosote that is built up in the fireplace?

The amount of creosote removed by using a Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™ Firelog can vary, based on a number of variables, such as how the fireplace or stove is used and the amount of creosote built up in your chimney.  Creosote Buster will help reduce the amount of creosote in your chimney, but is not a substitute for professional inspection and chimney cleaning.

How often should I use the Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™ Firelog?

It is recommended that you use a Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™ Firelog every 40-60 fires.

Has the Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™ Firelog been tested?

Yes.  It has been tested by Omni – Test Laboratory, Inc to certify its quality and efficiency, and is patented in Canada and the United States.

What is the Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™ Firelog made of?

The Creosote Buster™ is made of hardwood floor transformation residue, with no binder, therefore safe for the environment and your health.

Does the Creosote Buster™ give off any harmful fumes?

Harmful fumes may accumulate if there is not adequate ventilation.

Do I need to have my chimney inspected if I use the Creosote Buster™ as recommended?

Yes.  Creosote Buster™ Firelog is not a substitute for a professional inspection and cleaning.

How do I use the Pine Mountain® Creosote Buster™ Firelog?

There are 2 easy steps in using the Creosote Buster™ Firelog.  First build and light a fire.  After 30 minutes, add a Creosote Buster™ Firelog to the burning fire.  Active ingredients in the Creosote Buster™ Firelog begin attacking the creosote.
