Jarden Home Brands History
1993 – Ball® Corporation spins off Alltrista corporation, including Alltrista Consumer Products Company that sells and markets Ball line of fresh preserving jars and closures.
1994 – Alltrista Consumer Products acquires Bernardin®, the Canadian brand of fresh preserving products.
1996 – Alltrista Consumer Products acquires Kerr®, expands the premium branded fresh preserving product line and gains distribution in the Western United States.
2002 – Alltrista Corporation acquires Tilia International (developer of Food Saver®, the industry leading food vacuum packaging system); also changes name to
Jarden Corporation.
2003 – Jarden acquires Diamond® Brands & Oval Wood Dish, a leading manufacturer and marketer of matches, tootpicks, plastic cutlery, and straws. This acquisition doubles the of Alltrista Consumer Products Company.
2005 –Alltrista Consumer Products changes name to Jarden Home Brands, connecting the company to the strong performance of its parent company and focuses on brands with share leadership in multiple categories.
2005 –The Jarden Corporation completes two acquisitions: The Holmes Group, Inc, which includes well known brands such as Bionaire®, Crock-Pot®, Holmes®, Patton®, Rival®, White Mountain®, and American Household, Inc. which includes the Sunbeam® and Coleman® branded products.
2006 – The Jarden Corporation acquires the firelog and firestarter businesses of Conros Corporation, Conros International Limited and Java Log®. The business, also known as Pine Mountain®, is the market leader in firelog sales in North America with revenue of over $100 million. The division is known as the Jarden Home Brands – Firelog Division.
